Recently we added the new Candela
Smoothbeam™ laser to our practice. Smoothbeam™ laser therapy is a new

Unlike virtually all other therapies that temporarily destroy bacteria,
Smoothbeam™ works by heating the sebaceous gland, the root cause of acne.
In clinical studies, Smoothbeam™ eliminated 98% of all acne lesions for at least
six (6) months. This remarkable clearance rate was achieved without any
long-term side effects. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has
recently declared Smoothbeam™ safe and effective for the treatment of both
active acne and acne scars. Treatments are delivered in short "lunchtime"
or after school procedures. After treatment, you can go right back to work
or out to dinner without anyone even knowing you've had treatment.

In cases where this new technology is not the safest or most effective way of
treating your acne problem, we will recommend alternative treatment choices.
However, our experience has taught us that our new Smoothbeam™ laser therapy can
help a surprisingly large number of people.
