Allergy Testing

Allergy testing can be performed in a variety of ways.  Blood tests can be sent for evaluation, however, the doctors of Metropolitan ENT have had greater success with the use of intradermal testing.  During this testing a sequential dilution of antigens is gently injected under the skin and the reactions are measured.  This provides an immediate assessment of what the patient is allergic to and give a rough idea of how allergic the patient is.  This testing then allows for an allergy vaccine which will be created specifically for each patient and can be used in allergy treatment.
